”Stamps are our smallest ambassador. They travel the world. Wherever they go, they spread awareness about the issues and moments they depict,” said Elliot Mbonga of the Post Office’s KwaZulu-Natal region.
“We are confident the stamp launch today will spread awareness of the immense role forestry plays in the global society. Forestry is not only important to humanity as a source of revenue; for without forests, life would not be the same,” Mbonga said.

The stamps were designed by Pretoria artist Annemarie Wessels, who worked with the department of agriculture, and 50 000 sheets have been released.
They can be purchased online at www.virtualpostoffice.co.za or from post offices at a cost of R40 per sheet.
