A Meatmaster is a cross between an indigenous Damara and any other sheep breed, with the aim of producing a hardy, fertile animal with a carcass that will not be penalised at the abattoir.
Meatmasters are separated into three types: the all-rounder, the all-rounder European and the all-rounder African. Du Plessis strives to retain Damara characteristics such as hardiness, fertility and good.
