6 large potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
30g butter
160ml hot milk
2 large red onions, sliced
125ml beef stock
15ml oil
8 sausages
1 Cook the potatoes in boiling, salted water until soft. Drain and mash with the butter and hot milk.
2 Place the onions in a saucepan with 30ml water and cook over low heat for 10 minutes until browned and soft. Add the stock and simmer until reduced slightly.
3 Meanwhile, heat the oil in a frying pan and cook the sausages for 10 minutes until crispy on the outside and cooked through. Serve with the mash and onion gravy.
