Articles such as the ‘Lessons from Zim’ and ‘Belonging akwardly– white Africans’ (17 February, page 4 and 36) offer invaluable clues for SA farmers.

McDermott Hughes nailed it on the head: “firstly voluntarily redistributing some land, and, secondly acting more humble. In public one might take care not to project the colonial position of mastery…..”. It’s equally an issue of addressing disposition as it is an ideological concern. SA farmers don’t realise how perilously close they are to losing everything and their efforts to avert annihillation are inadequate. How about publishing a perspective from a land reclaimer? Not in emotive vitriol but in a progressive tone.
