La Motte’s immense success in gaining gold medals at prestigious international wine competitions continued as they claimed two more awards at the 2007 MUNDUSvini Great International Wine Awards, held earlier this month in Cape Town.

The competition is the largest officially recognised wine competition in the world, this year welcoming a record-breaking 4 925 entries from 35 countries. Close to 5 000 wines were swirled around the expert palates of the international jury. La Motte, situated outside Franschhoek, received a gold medal for the 2005 Shiraz Viognier from their Pierneef collection and a silver medal for the 2004 Millennium from their classic range. La Motte’s winemaker Edmund Terblanche said proudly, “The MUNDUSvini is an extremely prominent event on the wine industry’s annual calendar and we are honoured and proud to have brought home two medals. These awards are yet another testament to La Motte’s dedication to producing world-class wines and our commitment to excellence.” – Staff reporter
