Speaking at the organisation’s annual congress gala dinner, Mahanjana said the new CEO of Nerpo will be Dr Langelihle Simela. “Dr Simela has been my right hand, and has played a major role in the running of Nerpo for many years,” said Mahanjana. However, Mahanjana will not be walking way from the organisation.

He was appointed the new Nerpo chairperson of the board and CEO for Nerpo Business, taking over from the former chairperson, Wilson Muvhulawa.Mahanjana said as the new Nerpo Business CEO, his core responsibilities will be running Nerpo Investment Limited and the Nerpo Financial Services. “With these, we’ll ensure Nerpo participates in agribusiness deals that will benefit both our farmers and the organisation,” he explained. He added that Nerpo has been relying on donations for a long time, and it was time for a change. “The lifespan for an organisation running on donations is very short,” he said. “We’re moving into business to ensure our survival and sustainability.”
