Sampro is the cream of the crop

The South African Milk Processors Organisation took two trophies at the International Dairy Federation’s annual dairy innovation awards.

The South African Milk Processors Organisation (Sampro) took two trophies at the International Dairy Federation’s annual dairy innovation awards in Parma, Italy.

Sampro won the Best Generic Dairy Marketing Campaign with its consumer education project, while its Cow-dealer entry won Best Consumer TV Marketing Campaign, with an advert developed by Cape Town’s FoxP2 agency.

The campaigns were conducted on behalf of and funded by Milk SA. They were co-ordinated by Sampro’s consumer education team, led by chief executive Alwyn Kraamwinkel and project co-ordinator Christine Leighton. Other team members are Maretha Vermaak and Tessa Weissnar.

Fair Cape Dairies was a finalist in the Best New Dairy Drink category with its Rooiboost shots, and was also a finalist in the Best New Functional Dairy Product with its Rooibos Yogurt. “These are the world’s first yogurts to carry the Cancer Association of SA (Cansa) seal and we’re proud that they’ve been recognised in this way,” said Fair Cape commercial manager Joel Serman.

The awards attracted over 100 entries from 25 countries in 14 categories, ranging from products to packaging, marketing and environmental sustainability. – Robyn Joubert
