Meet the famous chefs
Pete Goffe-Wood, judge on Ultimate Braai Master and MasterChef SA, is the godfather of South African fire-cooking. Author, restaurateur, and self-declared ‘food alchemist,’ he is all about honest flavours and bold flames.
Benny Masekwameng (Chef Benny), South Africa’s culinary sweetheart, brings heart, heritage, and serious skill to the braai. Best known as a MasterChef SA judge, his rise from township kitchens to fine dining stardom is the stuff of legend.
Suzie Wandrag, finalist on Kokkedoor; Vuur en Vlam, is a fiery force of Afrikaans flavour. Expect traditional favourites turned into gourmet gold, from skilpadjies to sweet treats with a smoky twist.
Top comedians
Chris Forrest has a MasterChef title under his belt. His dry humour and sharp delivery, brings the funny with a side of steakhouse.
David Kau is a pioneer of South African comedy. He serves up fiery punchlines and political satire that sizzles long after the laugh.
Nick Goliath’s real-life, relatable humour and quick wit make him a fan favourite. He is big on energy, bigger on laughs.
Richelieu Beaunoir is a co-founder of Goliath & Goliath Comedy. He brings bold observations and brilliant timing to the stage. He is smart, smooth, and spicy.
Dave Levinsohn as the Festival Fairy dons wings, wields a spatula, and brings magical mayhem to the coals in equal parts. He is hilarious and unhinged, so expect glitter, gags, and gas burners.
Live music
Saturday: Jasper Dan blends rock, blues, and boerie-soaked soul. He’s the musical meat rub you never knew you needed.
Droomsindroom is a dreamy, genre-bending Afrikaans band that brings poetry and psych-rock to the braai. It is folk, but fire-roasted.
Ross Learmonth is the former Prime Circle frontman, turned solo powerhouse. His voice could melt butter on a cold steak, and it just might.
Loufi serves up a genre-blending sound that’s equal parts hip-hop, dance, and raw South African flavour, with beats as bold as his lyrics. Expect high energy, deep bass, and the kind of bars that stick in your head long after the fire’s out.
Sunday: Lungelo’s silky, soulful, and stirring smooth Sunday set will have you swaying by the smoker.
Jody Mayhew presents acoustic storytelling at its finest. His chilled vibe pairs perfectly with a cold drink and a warm fire.
