Agri SA is also urging employers to allow their employees “to exercise their democratic right to vote for the political party and candidates” each employee supports.

“The local elections which will take place during this week ask of all South African citizens to cast their vote and to elect councillors who are absolutely committed to ethical and effective service delivery at local level,” said Agri SA.

The farmers’ union said that SA now required expertise and visionary leadership who, with utmost diligence and sincerity, would serve the interests of all citizens at local government level.
