Hanlie Mouton, of Bothaville Info (www.bothaville.info) said she expected that between 8 500 and 10 000 people would be staying in and around Bothaville during the festival.

“Accommodation is booked as far as Potchefstroom, Leeudoringstad and Welkom, which are about 120km from Nampo Park,” she said.

There are about ten guesthouses in Bothaville, and those people not staying in guesthouses would be accommodated in private residences, she added.

In addition, the event generated about “750 temporary employment conditions with a potential income of about R600 000”, Arnold Steyn from the Chamber of Commerce said.
