Kroonstad – The National Boran Sale was held at Kroon Boma on 19 July. Chris van der Merwe of Frontier Africa Expeditions sold the highest-priced bull (MXM 10 424) to André van der Walt of Centurion for R400 000. Bulls averaged R60 161.EG Basson sold the highest-priced cow (EG 07 04) to B Hurwitz Farming for R130 000. The average price for cows was R43 333.
The highest-priced heifer (PRB 10 19) was sold to B Hurwitz Farming for R100 000, and heifers averaged R38 802. The highest-priced cow with calf was sold to HJP de Beer for R95 000, and the average price for cows with a calf was R43 352. The sale was conducted by CMW, with Johan van der Nest as the auctioneer.
