George Michalakis, the DA’s Free State permanent delegate to the NCOP, who tabled the motion without notice, described this development as “encouraging”.

The members of the NCOP agreed unanimously to call on the minister of police Nathi Nhleko to include farm attacks in the SAPS annual report. Moreover, the NCOP called unanimously on Nhleko to categorise farm attacks as priority crimes.
