Galloway had been making an early start on a business trip to the Transkei on 23 July when he was taken, without his personal belongings or his car, and thrown off the view point at Krantzkloof Nature Reserve. “He fell about 40m and was found on a small ledge in a gorge. His calls for help were heard by students at the gorge and he was rescued and taken to hospital for medical treatment,” said the SA Community Action Network in a statement.

Private investigator Brad Nathanson said Galloway was in fair condition. “Bruce complained of sore ribs and a cut next to his eye as well as an injured finger, an injury alleged to have been sustained when his abductors tried to cut his wedding ring off his finger,” Nathanson said.

Police are investigating a case of kidnapping.
