Rhino poaching syndicate to appear in court

A 10-member rhino poaching syndicate that operated in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal is expected to appear in court on 29 September.

The group briefly appeared in the Hatfield Magistrate’s Court on 22 September facing several charges of rhino-poaching, according to the Conservation Action Trust.

Currently in police custody, the group faces charges of allegedly killing 22 rhinos and taking 84 rhino horns worth R22 million.
