Silos come tumbling down in Swellendam

More than 11 500t of canola seed ended up on the ground after 14 silos collapsed at the Sentraal-Suid Koöperasie co-operative in Swellendam on Tuesday (1 December).

According to media reports, CEO Ernest Reiser said the cause of the collapse was unknown and would be investigated.

Reiser said the co-operative was desperately trying to find alternative storage space in order to salvage the seeds.
