Jan Celliers and his 217kg pumpkin was crowned the Goliat van Gat champion at the TAU SA Goliat van Feeste last Saturday at the Voortrekker monument in Pretoria. It was the second year that Celliers’ pumpkin took first prize. His pumpkin weighed 273kg last year and the record for the competition stands at 367kg.

All pumpkins entered into the competition are donated to a charity that feeds the underprivileged.
