Australian Wool Innovation Ltd (AWI) it set to begin its biggest marketing campaign in China for more than a decade. rian van Rooyen, AWI chairperson, said the thrust of the campaign covers five cities across China with the potential to reach more than 15 million people. “This is an exciting development involving partnerships with eight department stores and more than 35 Chinese knitwear brands and Woolmark licensees,” Van Rooyen said. “It will result in a 5% increase in unit sales of Australian Merino knitwear for all partners involved and a 20% increase in foot traffic.” – Alan Harman

Wheat worries as phosphorus runs low

Yields of non-organic wheat could fall from an average of 9t/ha to 4t/ha sometime between 2040 and the end of this century, as the planet runs out of phosphorus, says Britain’s Soil Association. ome 85% of the known deposits are in four North African countries, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt.
