Fruit export company KatopÉ RSA has announced a series of structural changes to its business to strengthen its position in the fruit export market.

The most telling change has been the creation of a new division called Katopé Fruit Exports South Africa, which incorporates the Old Katopé Citrus and Katopé Cape divisions. The Tzaneen-based company also announced Katopé Fruit Exports will absorb the fruit division from Intertrading and logistics company Big Logistics into the new business. “We have been able to strip costs out of the system by removing duplication,” said Martin van der Merwe, who will head up Katopé Fruit Exports’ head office in Somerset West. “More importantly, we have been able to build a team that brings experience in the right disciplines to the table, in order to service our clients both locally and internationally far more efficiently.” – Staff reporter
