According to reports, a suspect who was arrested in Orkney was found in possession of a police reflective vest and handcuffs. A second suspect has been arrested and all the stolen property has been recovered by the police.

“What is of great concern is that the apparent possible involvement of police officials with serious and violent crimes impacts negatively on the mutual trust that exists between farmers and the police,” said Tommie Esterhuyse, chairperson of FSA’s Law and Order Committee.

According to a FSA press release, a request has been lodged with top SAPS management that an example should be made of officers involved in these crimes.
