Honeybee food sources running out fast

Commercially farmed honeybee colonies play a crucial role the pollination of fruit crops in the Western Cape.

But researchers fear that as the demand for these pollination services are growing, honeybee farming is becoming ever more challenging due to the fast dwindling number of Eucalyptus trees, one of the main food sources for honeybees, in the province.
