Local livestock farmer jets off to Lincoln, Nebraska

The ABSA ARC National Emerging Beef Farmer of the Year 2012, Matshidiso Molale-Mooketsi from North West will be attending the Beef Improvement Federation (BIF) Annual Meeting and Research Symposium in Lincoln, Nebraska, in the US, from 18 to 21 June.

According to www.sanews.gov.za, Molale-Mooketsi, a Bonsmara and Nguni breeder, said that the information she will gather at the symposium she would share with other beef farmers in her province.

“I have the responsibility to selflessly contribute towards improved livestock production in the province, and what a better way to do it than empowering my peers with information.”

The meeting attracts up to 900 delegates and focuses on the genetic improvement of beef cattle and enables attendees to learn about technologies and management practices that can aid in the profitability of their operations.
