Geoff Kingwill, a wool producer from Murraysburg, was unanimously elected chairperson of Cape Wools at a recent board of directors’ meeting following the AGM.

Geoff Kingwill, a wool producer from Murraysburg, was unanimously elected chairperson of Cape Wools at a recent board of directors’ meeting following the AGM. He succeeds Hendrik van Zyl, who is retiring after serving on the board since the establishment of Cape Wools in 1997. Van Zyl’s place on the board is filled by Dr George de Kock, a producer from Bredasdorp. D erek Pape, who represents the wool buyers, was elected as vice-chairperson. The other directors are Philip Stucken, representing the Wool Textile Council, Wolf Edmayr (wool brokers), George Manqindi (labour), and SK Makanana, representing emerging wool growers. – Roelof Bezuidenhout
