Capespan sells ExperiCo to Farmsecure

Agribusiness Farmsecure Agri Science has bought the ExperiCo division of Capespan.

Agribusiness Farmsecure Agri Science has bought the ExperiCo division of Capespan for an undisclosed amount. The sale is effective from 1 November.

According to Angelo Peterson, its manager for corporate services, Capespan plans to reinvest the proceeds into logistics and marketing.

ExperiCo Fruit Technology Solutions specialises in commercial quality maintenance research involving harvesting, packaging and storing all fruit destined for local and international markets. Farmsecure focuses on precision farming skills. With the ExperiCo acquisition, its Farmsecure Agri Science division will extend its current ARCHIVEpre-harvest service offering in the fruit sector to include ExperiCo’s post-harvest research and development services, Farmsecure stated.

“ExperiCo is a long-established and successful business, and we want to assure ExperiCo clients all around the world that we are fully committed to supporting and further strengthening the business,” said Schalk Lubbe, CEO of Farmsecure Technologies.
Capespan’s executive director, Dr Dawie Ferreira, explained the company’s decision to sell ExperiCo in a statement. He reported that Capespan had taken a strategic decision to focus on its
