Barkly East – Steyn and Tjaart Steenekamp held a production sale on their farm Lower Orpendale on 23 January. The highest-priced Suffolk ram was sold to HE Engelbrecht for R24 000 and the average Suffolk ram price was R4 711. Dormer rams sold for an average of R4 632 and the highest-priced ram was sold to Mertoun Family Farm for R15 000. The sale was conducted by BKB, with JJ van der Watt as the auctioneer.
