Public tender: Two Postmasburg properties, 3 042ha with mining right

Between the red Kalahari dunes, open plains, and ironstone-rich landscapes of the Northern Cape, a rare opportunity awaits investors, mining operators, and farmers: two adjacent farm sections totalling around 3 042 ha, with an established mining right and various non-mining assets, are now available via public tender.
The natural pasture makes it highly suitable for cattle or game farming. An area of around 1 ha is set aside for an operational building, houses, and stores.
Water is supplied from three boreholes with an existing pipeline network and a storage dam with a pump. There is also an on-site electrical substation.
This infrastructure allows future owners to immediately expand or develop the property, whether for agriculture, mining, or a combination of both.
For mining enthusiasts, the property includes a 30-year mining right (2017–2047) for iron ore extraction.
Mining highlights
- Mining right protocol number: 417/2017
- Minerals: iron ore (primary)
- Current operator: small-scale operations
- Potential: up to 50 000 t of iron ore per month
- Raw material production: approximately 600 000 t/year
- Ultimate mined production: around 108 000 t/year
This is an excellent investment opportunity for the right buyer.
