Bronkhorstspruit – The Highveld Brahman Auction was held on 24 May on the farm Onverwacht. Twenty-eight buyers registered for the auction. The most expensive bull was sold for R42 500 by Piet Lubbe of Barberton to Gerrie Gerrits of Middelburg. Five bulls achieved an average of R25 600. The most expensive cow and calf was sold for R21 000 by JG Drotsky of Bethal to Slag Consulting BK of Leraatsfontein while the highest-priced pregnant cow was sold for R19 000 by Derrin Brahman of Bronkhorstspruit to MJ Hattingh of Ermelo. Pregnant commercial cows achieved an average of R8 000. This auction was conducted by CMW Standerton with PM Swart as the auctioneer.
