Agricultural machinery sales expected to spike on back of weakening Rand

A weakening Rand to the US Dollar is expected to hasten farmers’ plans to invest in capital equipment.

Stocks of new tractors and combine harvesters imported at the more favourable exchange rate earlier this year are limited, or even sold out. However, local machinery marketers remain optimistic about sales over the rest of the year due to higher maize prices.
