From 12 to 15 May, Nampo Park will once again transform into a hub of technology, ideas, and opportunity, offering visitors a front-row seat to the future of farming. With a packed programme of demonstrations and discussions, Nampo continues to evolve as the agriculture sector navigates volatility, biosecurity risks, and rapid technological change.
For many farmers, a day at Nampo is no longer just a visit. Instead, it’s a strategic exercise in planning, networking, and decision-making.
To help you make the most of your time at Nampo, Farmer’s Weekly has compiled a list of must-know-before-you-go information.

Choosing the best day to attend
Each day offers a slightly different experience:
-
Tuesday: best for serious business, quieter crowds, and easier access to exhibitors.
-
Wednesday: a balanced mix of business and atmosphere, ideal for networking.
-
Thursday: traditionally the busiest day, with peak visitor numbers and vibrant energy.
-
Friday: more relaxed, often better for families and those wanting to explore at a slower pace.
Plan your route to Nampo. Grain SA has recommended an alternative route to avoid damaged roads at Viljoenskroon.

How to make the most of your day
A successful Nampo visit starts long before you arrive at the gates. Planning ahead helps avoid fatigue and ensures you get the most out of your day. Start by identifying priority exhibitors and demonstrations on the Nampo app. Given the size of the grounds, it is unrealistic to see everything in a single day.
Arriving early, ideally before 8am, helps avoid traffic congestion and long entry queues. Alternatively, arriving later in the afternoon can mean lighter traffic, although your time on the grounds will be shorter.
Comfort matters. Wear sturdy walking shoes, bring a hat and sunscreen, and stay hydrated throughout the day. Distances between stands can be considerable, and a full day often involves several kilometres of walking.
Programme highlights
This year’s programme offers a mix of technical insight, entertainment, and high-energy demonstrations. Highlights include:
- Tuesday, 8am to 8.15am: wreath-laying ceremony at the Wall of Remembrance, marking the official start of the show.
- Tuesday, 9am to 10am: Farmer’s Plans competition judging at stand B2.
- Daily, 9.30am to 3pm: Santam Landbou Women’s Programme, hosted in the rooi rose marquee next to Shell, featuring up to five sessions a day with personalities such as Lizz Meiring and Bertus Basson. Entrance is free.

- Daily, 12pm to 1pm: drone demonstrations opposite stand G15.
- Daily, various times: Nation in Conversation sessions covering topics such as farm economics, water, biofuels, and the FMD crisis.
Beyond machinery, inputs, and demonstrations, Nampo remains a space where the agriculture community connects, shares knowledge, and reflects on the challenges shaping the sector. In a year marked by biosecurity concerns and shifting market dynamics, the show offers both practical insights and renewed optimism.
