Knowledge of the industry and the latest trends are crucial for any farmers, according to TAU SA president Louis Meintjes.

Urging delegates to become more involved in organised agriculture, he said: “Farmers need to work together in order to ensure their safety and to exchange ideas. You’re not going to survive on your own.”

Elections for TAU SA’s Young Farmer Committee were also concluded, and saw chairperson Derick Kuün being re-elected. Kuün said farmers have a lot to be positive about, despite the challenges they are facing.

“As long as you have character and a passion for what you are doing, you will be successful,” he said.
