The first thing I do when I get my Farmer’s Weekly is look at your designs because they are always intriguing. I need you to help me design a simple but elegant office on my farm. It should not be too big but I need it to be comfortable and smart, with a kidney-shape layout. The office must have a thatch roof, double sliding wooden doors in front and wooden window frames. It must have a toilet, basin and cement floor. I have a mahogany desk with drawers on both sides and a leather inlay. The office should have a built-in book shelf and be spacious enough to accommodate two leather chairs and a coffee table.

Here is a layout and thatch styling that is one of many possibilities. The entrance, for instance, could be on the opposite side to where it is shown. I thought the glass sliding doors needed a porch covering for protection from the rain. From this sketch, you should be able to refine the internal functionality according to your needs. The ‘chat room’, for example, could serve as either a library or a secretary’s office. Kindly let me know what your further thoughts are before I prepare your final drawings.
