I received a call from Mike and Molly, who would like a stage-built house in a private lakeside home resort. The man-made lake, which stretches for 3km upstream, is situated in the KZN Midlands. The couple’s home would slowly be built over the next few years. The idea is to owner-build as Mike was an established craftsman. Also, building this way can save 30% on building costs.

The layout shown here lends itself ideally to stage-building as the five oblong house and outbuilding sections can be built independently.
