We continue to track the surge in tractor production in Asian countries, as seen in the many models available on the SA market:

NHFI
New Holland Fiat India (NHFI) was established in 1996. Tractors available in South Africa include the 40kW three-cylinder TT55 and the 55kW four-cylinder TT75 (pictured).

Case IH JXT series
Case IH JXT tractors are produced in India and distributed in South Africa by Northmec. The 55kW JXT75 is available in 2WD and 4WD.

Global series
AGCO has built a new factory in Changzhou, China, which will build Massey Fergusson’s new Global tractor series and its components. The Global 4708 model is fast gaining popularity in South Africa, thanks to its exceptionally economical fuel usage.

Landini Solis
The Landini Solis range is built in India by the International Tractor Company and distributed in South Africa by Argo. The Argo SA Solis range includes the 35kW Solis 50 (pictured), the 52kW Solis 60 and the 65kW Solis 75.

John Deere India
John Deere India, with tractor factories in Pune and Dewas and a combine harvester factory at Sirhind, has been in operation for just over a decade. John Deere India tractors available in South Africa include the 5003 series with three models, the 5303 (40,4kW), 5403 (47,8kW) and 54,8kW 5503 (seen here), available in 2WD and 4WD. All are powered by three-cylinder John Deere Powertech engines.

CLAAS Talos range
The CLAAS Talos tractor range is built in South Korea and marketed in South Africa by Kempston Agri. Four models are available: the 210, 220, 230 (pictured) and 240, powered by FPT engines rated at 52kW, 57kW, 65kW and 70kW respectively.

Same
Based in Italy, Same is one of the world’s leading tractor manufacturers. It has eight production sites in Europe and Asia and joint ventures in China and Russia. The Same Tiger range (shown here) is manufactured at the Ranipet Industrial Complex in India, and the 60 (38kW) and 80.4 (53kW) models are available in South Africa.

Deutz-Fahr
Indian-built Deutz-Fahr tractors available locally include the 38kW Agrolux 60 and the 53kW Agrolux 4.75.
