The Auction of the National Limousin Champions was held on Water’s Edge farm on 21 May.

The highest price of the day was paid for the bull Xourel Italia XRL 16 38, which was sold by John and Tracey Devonport of Devlan Limousins near Villiers to Daphne Nkosi and Dennis Magagane of La Reina Limousins in Edenville for R1,2 million, a new South African record for Limousin. Bulls were sold for an average price of R146 583.

Devlan Limousins also set a new South African record when the open heifer Devlan Pagan DL 20 13 was sold to La Reina Limousins for R280 000. Open heifers achieved an average price of R66 778.

In-calf cows achieved an average price of R48 600, while 3-in-1 cows were sold for an average price of R70 650. In-calf heifers were sold for an average price of R50 864.
